DENNA BABUL ART

ART IS LIKE CREATIVE JOURNALING FOR THE SOUL

ANGEL ART

I have such an appreciation of crosses, signs, and angels. It started in my childhood when I leaned into my faith after my father’s passing. I longed for signs and was drawn in by all things ethereal. If you pay attention, the universe is always sending us signals. I love to find meaning in art through words. Angel numbers capture just that through their symbolism: It is believed that these numbers are messages from the spiritual universe that offer insight, wisdom, and directionality. If you look closely, this piece embodies all the meanings of the first nine angel numbers. What do you see? Can you find other words? What word/number sequence is the universe drawing your attention to? For me, the sequencing of 333 has a special meaning. When you see 333, the angels are supporting you as you grow and expand in your life. To show you just how powerful these numbers are, as I write this, the number 333 is staring right back at me from the clock!

You will see angel numbers throughout my collections. Here are their meanings:

ART OF THE MONTH

ABOUT DENNA

Denna Babul was born in Charleston, S.C., and grew up admiring the art all around her. "From attending the Spoleto Festival to watching the ladies weaving straw baskets in the street market to artists painting Rainbow Row from the street corners, creativity was everywhere." "In my family, creativity is a way of life. We all love doing things with our hands and telling a story through what we create. I don't remember a time in my life when I wasn't creating."

Denna is an artist and an award-winning author and has written multiple books. She has found a unique niche by pairing her love of painting and writing to tell a story in every piece she creates.

She enjoys working with many mediums, including mixed media, acrylics, watercolors, and sculptures. Denna loves the unexpected. From a flair of joyful color to a prolific grouping of words, every piece evokes something magical.

COMMISSIONS

I dearly love to do commissions, from meeting interesting people to seeing their spaces and understanding what speaks to them creatively. It’s magical.

This mixed media piece is a commission I did for clients who became lifelong friends. They started with one 60x48 that turned into three 60x48 pieces to follow along their expansive, long hallway. The color palette is soft and whimsical, with a little nod to Ed Sheeran-one of the couple’s favorite artists. It remains one of my all-time favorite commissions.
